Event & Media Structures went trackside in July to provide three temporary hospitality structures for Silverstone F1 – one of the biggest and most prestigious sporting events in the UK.
On behalf of our client GL Events, we adapted several luxury VIP spaces so they could hold large numbers of visitors in a covid secure way.
First, we transformed two existing 10 x 10 m single storey venues, the Fusion Lounge and Ignition Club into double-storey spaces, by fitting each structure with a waterproof roof-membrane and installing a floating floor with decking.
The newly built surfaces were made from melamine ply, then wrapped in vinyl to give them a sleek finish. We added staircases, carpeting and stainless-steel handrails to both builds to complete the look.
The additional roof top space enabled the VIP partygoers to spread out as well as get a great birds-eye-view of all the action.
To maximise space further we added a 5 m x 10 m decked terrace to both structures which gave additional seating and space on the ground floor.
At the Ignition Club, we added a 250 m viewing deck with public access rails on the ground floor. This gave the VIP party goers another option of where to park up for the best view of the racing.
For The Paddock Club we built a temporary outdoor space adjacent to the permanent Paddock Club venue. The 50 m x 15 m Paddock Club platform provided additional temporary hospitality for a DJ booth and bar.
Open sided, it had a roof cover and glass handrails, so VIP members could get the best view of the pit lane and the infamous Copse Corner – the best place to see Lewis Hamilton’s F1 finish.
Purpose built for the F1 Grand Prix it allowed the sponsor to make the most of the outdoor space and sunshine, while keeping visitors covid safe.
